Rasa Bara – Bhoga Prasad
Traditionally we consume Bara(Vada) as one of savoury fried snacks. Bara is a category of savoury fried snacks from India. Different types of Bara can be described variously as fritters, cutlets, doughnuts, or dumplings. Rasa Bara is kind of Bara contted with sugar syrup, you can feel the crunch ouside and softness inside. Take it as bhoga prasad in different temples in India.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Biri dali(Urad Dal)
- Pinch of baking soda
- 4-5 crushed gujurati(green cardamoms)
- Oil or ghee for deep frying
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Soak Biri dali in water for 4-5 hours.
- Drain and grind it to a fine paste in grinder. Add crushed cardamoms and baking soda to it and whisk for few mins.
- Heat oil or ghee in a kadhai. Then make small balls of Biri paste and deep fry till golden brown.
- Once syrup turns 2 string consistency add fried Bara and mix well. Take out from the gas / stove and keep mixing till it turns dry.
- Take out and serve hot or cold
